Senior Consultant (Financial Systems)

Logica is a major UK supplier of Software and Integration services. For Logica I performed a number of managerial, test and development roles within projects for payments processing and financial systems. Experience included work on systems for SWIFT II, EBA STEP2 (cross border bulk payments clearing and settlement), CLS FX Trading and 10 years on CHAPS Gateway and CHAPS Euro payments systems. Projects typically lasted between 6 and 18 months.

Roles included:

Project Manager, Senior Test Consultant, Lead Tester, Technical Author, Quality Manager, Designer/Developer,Systems Analyst, Technical Manager, Training Course Developer, Trainer, Test Manager, Logica's CHAPS Technical Representative at APACS, Tandem System Manager, Senior Technician/Team Leader, Functional Analyst, DBA.

Achievements included:

• EBA STEP2 pilot test scripts: provided a complete manual for multi-bank testing of this new service; Responsible for project management, test planning, authoring and presenting to the major European banks in Paris;
• Several varied major banking developments: test and payments expertise for projects including: an internet bank launch, a major retail bank merger and several early advances in risk management for CHAPS payment systems; Wrote test plans; specified and negotiated test environments; facilitated interdepartmental tests; managed test execution, test reporting and observation reports/retests;
• LCI/LEI CHAPS Product: successfully bid a product enhancement to a major retail bank allowing them to schedule payments via the EBA EURO1 service;
• Quality Management: wrote a project quality plan to define project processes and documents; deputised the project manager; piloted change control processes;
• Training: wrote and delivered business user training courses for CHAPS application;
• Support documentation: wrote the Logica CHAPS Product Centre Guide.
